BONSAI CHANGES THE PERSON

Bonsai is often thought of as being very difficult, but, in truth, with a daily watering and a little love, you can easily raise a bonsai tree. By bringing bonsai into your own personal space, you can find solicitude in daily life. Most importantly, bonsai teaches us many things.

Unlike all of the artificial, flashy coloring of television or magazines, bonsai has a more down to earth color, a texture to it that you can genuinely feel with all of your senses. The sensation of color has an enormous, unconscious impact on our daily lives. We can be healed by the subtle color of bonsai.

A bonsai tree is a mirror which reflects you. A bonsai tree grows and ages alongside you while gazing upon you all along. Indeed, seasoned and professional bonsai aficionados have the inexplicable ability to determine to whom a bonsai tree belongs just by looking at it.

Bonsai trees absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. You can experience breathing real, living oxygen which is more natural than oxygen produced by oxygenator devices. Also, as has been mentioned on TV, pouring water on a bonsai tree releases a great amount of minus ions, which are good for the skin. I believe that just by cultivating bonsai one is practicing ecological consciousness and that, the more love you give to your bonsai trees, the better the natural ecosystem around you, the sea, the rivers, the mountains, will naturally become.

Bonsai have no mouth and thus cannot speak, but they do have a heart. Just by touching a bonsai tree, I can feel it respond by taking on a more lovely form. I learned from bonsai that true love is about both giving and receiving. I have realized that I am not simply cultivating bonsai; I am being allowed to cultivate it.
